1. Cut challah bread into 1 to 1.5-inch thick slices. Using a skewer, create a hole on the side of each bread slice without puncturing through the other side. 2. Prepare the strawberry topping: In a medium bowl, cut strawberries and add 3 tablespoons of sugar. Mix and let sit for 15 minutes until a syrup consistency forms. 3. Prepare the filling: In a separate bowl, combine 8 oz room temperature cream cheese, 1/4 cup sour cream, 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 2 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/2 lemon zest. Mix until it forms a creamy consistency. 4. Prepare the French toast batter: In another separate bowl, combine 3/4 cup whole milk, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 3 eggs, 2 egg yolks, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg, 1/2 tsp sea salt, and 1.5 tbsp dark brown sugar. Mix thoroughly. 5. Fill a baking bag with the cream cheese filling and carefully squeeze it into the holes of each challah bread slice, being careful not to overstuff. 6. Transfer the French toast batter into a casserole dish. Add each piece of filled bread into the mixture, ensuring all sides are coated. 7. In a pan, melt about 2-3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Cook the French toast for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. 8. Serve immediately with fresh blueberries, the prepared sugared strawberries, maple syrup, and an optional dusting of powdered sugar. Enjoy!
