Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Recipe 1 lb macaroni 2 tbsp butter -Boil macaroni until Al dente. Add butter and mix to prevent noodles from sticking. 6 tbsp butter 1 shallot chopped 3 garlic cloves chopped 1/4 cup flour 3 1/2 cups whole milk 1 cup heavy cream 8 oz colby Jack cheese shredded 8 oz mozerella cheese shredded 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese shredded 8 oz medium cheddar cheese shredded -Combine all cheeses together and reserve 1/3 of the cheese for the top layer. 1 tsp smoked paprika 1/2 tsp dry mustard 1 tsp onion Powder Slat to taste 1/2 tsp black pepper 3 tbsp cream cheese -In a large pot over medium heat, add butter. Once melted, add shallot and garlic. Sauté until fragrant. Add flour and mix to form your roux, flour should turn a medium brown color. Turn heat down to low and slowly add milk and heavy cream. Whisk until there are no clumps and sauce has thickened, about 10-15 minutes. Add in 2/4 of your cheese and whisk until smooth. Once smooth add in all seasonings and cream cheese, whisk again until smooth. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper. Add sauce to macaroni and mix. Add to baking pan. Top with remaining shredded cheese. Bake at 425°F for 20-25 minutes and then broil until cheese is bubbly. Enjoy! #food #foodie #recipe #macaroniandcheese
