
Shrimp and Sausage Orzo

A flavorful dish combining medium shrimp and smoked beef sausage with orzo, cooked in chicken stock and finished with heavy cream and spinach.

What you need

oz fresh spinach

tsp smoked paprika
tsp italian seasoning

cup orzo

cup heavy cream

tsp pepper

tbsp olive oil
cup chicken stock

clove garlic clove
lb shrimp
oz smoked sausage

cup sundried tomatoes
Instructions
1: In a bowl, season shrimp with salt, Italian seasoning, and paprika. 2: In a sauté pan over medium heat, add 2 Tbsp olive oil and cook shrimp for 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside. 3: In the same pan, add another Tbsp of olive oil and add sausage. Cook for 5 minutes until lightly browned. Remove and set aside. 4: Add shallots, garlic, and sun-dried tomatoes. Sauté while scraping the bottom of the pan for about 3 minutes. 5: Deglaze the pan with about 1/4 cup of chicken stock. Mix in orzo for about 1 minute until toasted. 6: Add remaining chicken stock, salt, and pepper, and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 12 minutes. 7: Mix in heavy cream. Add spinach and mix. Cover for about 3 minutes until spinach is wilted. 8: Remove cover and mix in sausage and shrimp. Enjoy!View original recipe
